Quincy D.A. Carrega

(1973) obtained his law degree at the University of the Netherlands Antilles (now University of Curaçao) in 1998. He joined one of the largest and reputable law firms on the island of Curaçao in 1997, initially as paralegal. In 2001 he worked for 3 months at the Dutch based law firm, Van Doorne, at their offices in London, England, in the banking and finance practice group. 

 

At the end of 2003 he was appointed Director of the Netherlands Antilles Security Service, which function he fulfilled until June 2005. 

 

In June 2005 he rejoined the aforementioned law firm in Curaçao and continued working there as a senior associate until founding Asjes|Carrega in 2006. 

 

After initially having gained experience in the general law practice, Quincy specialized in and has advised clients extensively on different matters of insurance law, corporate law, mergers and acquisitions and also banking and finance. Furthermore, Quincy has a vast experience in (corporate) litigation. 

 

He was also a part-time lecturer at the University of Curaçao on the subject of insurance law and has  regularly served as a lecturer and speaker at workshops and seminars.

 

Quincy has been member of the supervisory board of several government owned companies in the period of 2010 - 2012, in which period he also served as Chairman of the Supervisory Board of one of such companies. In 2010 - 2011 he, furthermore, acted as interim managing director of the sole fuel distributor on the island of Curaçao and Bonaire.

 

Quincy currently is an active member of the supervisory board of advocacy (Raad van Toezicht Advocatuur) in Curaçao. 

 

For four consecutive years Quincy has been ranked by Chambers and Partners as a recognized lawyer in the section General Business Law for the Dutch Caribbean.
